About Us
North American 29er is a competitive fleet of skiff sailboats based in the continent of North America. Our goal is to grow the 29er youth skiff class across Canada, Puerto Rico, and the US.
The 29er is a high performance, double handed, youth skiff class. The 29er is also a primary path to lead into the 49er or 49erFX for olympic sailing. The 29er currently has a highly competitive international fleet and growing national and continental fleets across the world.
What is the 29er Class?
Youth Worlds
The 29er as a high performance boat class is one of the classes that participates in the Youth Sailing World Championships. This prestigious event is available to one male or mixed team and one female team per country each year. Youth Worlds qualification is published annually by each countries federation.
Eurocup Circuit
The close proximity of the European class of 29er sailing allows for an annual schedule of approximately 10-11 highly competitive events across Europe. These events are a whole new way to experience 29er sailing, international racing, and connect with the larger fleet.
